About our Internships

Peace of Mind Interns are expected to uphold our system of honor, respect and compassion towards our care member communities and families. Interns should also be diligent and independent workers who are willing to learn and advocate for senior and disability rights. In general, interns will:

  • Accompany caregivers and care members on outings
  • Support caregivers in day-to-day operations
  • Spend time with care members via games, reading, chatting, or other activities
  • Help the Center with event and activities planning
  • Perform administrative tasks if needed
  • Refer and connect care members to case workers
  • Perform other tasks based on the skillsets of the intern
 

We have an urgent need for interns with some social services and case management experience.

Benefits: 
  • $150 monthly stipend
  • Gain hands-on skills and knowledge of policies relevant to the senior and disability community
  • Opportunity to work with a diverse and multicultural community of service providers and care members
  • Able to job shadow under other health and human services professionals

Time Commitment:  At least 10-15 hours per week. Days and times are flexible. We operate Monday through Sundays, 6am-10pm

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student preferred with an educational background in healthcare, nutrition, social services, human services or any other related fields.
  • Must be highly compassionate, patient, and willing to learn.
  • Passionate or interested in issues relevant to senior citizens and/or persons with disabilities
  • Ability to actively converse with others and facilitate group activities
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Background clearance
  • Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time
